The Role
You will be installing custom cabinetry in luxury residential homes across Orange County. This is finish-level field work — kitchens, bathrooms, built-ins, and whole-home cabinetry programs where every reveal, scribe, and alignment is held to the highest standard.
You will read and work from technical drawings, coordinate with project managers and other trades on site, and represent H & J's standard of finish independently in the field. The job demands precision, physical stamina, and the kind of professionalism that shows up whether or not anyone is watching.
What the work involves
- Precise installation of custom cabinet boxes, doors, drawers, hardware, trim, and moulding in high-end residential homes
- Reading and executing from blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications
- Site evaluation — assessing dimensions, wall conditions, and preparing surfaces prior to installation
- Framing, metal stud, and drywall adjustments as needed for seamless cabinet integration
- Coordination with project managers, designers, and other trades on active job sites
- Communicating progress and flagging issues clearly and proactively
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years of cabinet installation experience — kitchen, bath, or built-ins in residential construction
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and layout equipment; ability to read a tape measure accurately including fractions
- Experience reading blueprints and shop drawings
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage your own time and schedule
- Background in trim carpentry, fine millwork, or high-end residential construction is a strong advantage
- Strong communication skills — you report clearly, ask the right questions, and keep the right people informed
